Turmeric [Curcuma longa]

In Ayurvedic practice, Turmeric is used to strengthen the body's overall energy by relieving gas, dispelling worms, improving digestion, regulating menstruation, dissolving gallstones, and reducing arthritis.

Topically, Turmeric has been used as an antiseptic for cuts, burns, bruises, and as an antibacterial agent. Its active ingredient, Curcumin, is a powerful antioxidant and shows a broad spectrum of biological actions.

It is considered anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic, anticoagulant, anti-diabetic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-protozoal, antiviral, anti-fibrotic, anti-venom, anti-ulcer, hypotensive, and hypocholesterolemic activities.
